ISTE Standards for Educators 2.7 – Analyst
This standard elaborates on how educators understand and use data to drive instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals. Therefore, educators:
2.7.a. Provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology.
2.7.b. Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to students, and inform instruction.
2.7.c. Use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents, and education stakeholders to build student self-direction.
Using LMS helps me to understand and use data to drive instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals. I can create various activities, such as a fishbowl discussion and personalized learning instruction models. These activities provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology (2.7.a.).
Besides, I also employed some applications, such as Kahoot and Mentimeter, to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to students, and inform instruction (2.7.b.) through the learning analytics in the LMS.
Implementing personalized learning instruction models helps me to use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents, and education stakeholders to build student self-direction 2.7.c.). In this case, I created Student Weekly Progress Report to monitor students’ progress in Personalized Learning. To communicate with parents and education stakeholders, I use WhatsApp to communicate and share ideas.
